COMMUNITY SERVICE |
|
Student Service at AISA In line with the AISA Mission, “…make a worthwhile contribution to society.” and the IBO Learner Profile of developing “Caring” students, the Secondary School actively seeks for ways in which students can contribute to their school community. Various ways in which students involve themselves in the service to their school community currently and in the past: ü Mentoring of younger students ü Leadership roles such as Student Council and Advisory ü Marshalls at Athletic Tournaments ü Assistants at school events such as AISA Fest, Elementary Sports Day, Parent-Teacher Conferences, International Evening, etc. ü Work that benefits the physical environment of the school, Artwork, design and decoration of bulletin boards, etc. Students from both the American High School and International Baccalaureate Programs are encouraged to involve themselves in school service wherever possible. Students with spare time in their schedules are required to use some of this time towards school service. Students are rewarded for their school service through recommendations written by the administration and teachers; these recommendations may be used in the future as part of their college application process. Students taking the full IB Diploma Program are required by IBO to fulfill the Creativity, Action and Service requirements, CAS, of the program towards gaining their diploma. We encourage all students and parents to support this valuable aspect of student learning.
